Billy Strehle

How did you get started in racing?

The Strehle family has been involved racing since the early 40's, starting with my Grandfather in Pensacola Florida, with my father moving to Northern Ohio in the early 70's there has been family members racing here every since (Father Mac,my Mother Shirley, Sister Kathy, Brother Bo, Myself Billy, and finally Son Brian ) making up 4 generations of Strehle Racing.
You are working on starting a new racing series in 2012. Tell us about it.

The Redneck Racing Association (T.R.R.A.) is a brand new race series for 2012. I am the Owner/Promotor of the series,Billy Strehle(216-217-5038) and Jack Saylor(440-458-1052) is our Race Director. The main purpose of this series is to bring family and friends together in this sport and allow them to participate at an affordable cost. We want to bring "The Fun Back Into Racing"!!! This is an endurance style series with the cars being factory stock with proper safety upgrades, cars being of basic bluebook value from $1500 and under. For $2000 or less you should be ready to race this series. All teams must have a minumum 2-4 drivers(depending on race length) with no maximum number of drivers. so with 4 drivers, you can be ready to race for $500 or less each!!! The more drivers the less the cost per person! For the first season  we are looking to race Ashalt Ovals, Dirt/Clay Ovals and a Road Race. With all races being in length 4 hours to 12 hours according to schedule. We are hoping to get multi-generation families involved(From Grandparents their kids and grandkids, brothers, sisters nieces, nephews, cousins friends...). We want to generate a fun family and friends type atmosphere. We will be having several forms of entertainment at all events, D.J/Karaoke for adults and the kids as well!!! Fun games and other activities to keep the fun non-stop and of couse lots of racing action on the track! So if you are looking for a fun, affordable way to go racing and have a blast with your family and friends its here... THE REDNECK RACING ASSOCIATION!!!!     Help spread the word and tell everyone you know to check us out. For more detailed information go to our website... Hope to see you ther in 2012!

What are your plans for 2012?

As far as my personal racing for the upcoming 2012 season, we are currently making our plans, some of what are we are working on are as follows...
I am building a Port City  Car to be run at Lake County Speedway in the Sportsman division also plan on racing it at Barberton and Midvale Speedways in their Late Model Divisions(The body of the car is in fabrication, its going to be something special!!! A throw back to when racing was fun, everyone will want to see this one when its finished!). I also have a charger that will be racing at tracks like Lorain, Sandusky, Barberton...(also in the Redneck Series). I have an Alcohol Kart to be raced by my Step Son at Martinsville, Little Indy... And Finally we are still working with Rick Yatson from Yatson Racing on a BRAND NEW RIDE for 2012, waiting to see what rules are, but are looking at either Main Event Late Models or Jegs CRA Late Models. Will update when the time comes. I also have been expanding my personal business, Coyote Entertainment, so with all this going on, its going to be an extremely busy off season for STREHLE RACING and myself!!! I want to take a second to thank all my sponsors and those fans that kept supporting me during a really tough 2011 season. And pledge to them that 2012 will be much better! THANKS EVERYONE!

Whats the most enjoyable thing about racing?

Its that it is a family tradition for us, it has helped to keep our family close.
Tell us little about your car and what tracks you race at?

I currenly race a Howe Late Model with a 2009 Monte Carlo Body on it, a Dillion Sportsman, an alcohol Kart and my son is racing in a Jr alcohol Kart. We race Lorain, Sandusky, Midvale and many other tracks in Ohio, PA, Michigan and Indiana.

When you are not racing what do you do for fun?

I am a D.J/Karaoke host so I spend alot of my time doing shows. Spending time with my Family.

If you could win any race in the world, which one would you want to win?

Well of course the overwelming answer would probably the Daytona 500 or something along that lines, but mine would be a close call between the Polar Bear 150 at Rockinham or The Snowball Derby at 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola Florida because they are grass root racings elite races for me.
Is there anybody you would like to thank?

My family, for the years of support and encouragement so I can race.
