How did you get started
My dad has raced big block modifieds since I was little so my goal was
to always be a professional racer.
You started racing on
dirt. What changed your plans to go to asphalt racing?
I got hurt in 2004 and after a year for recovery, the doctor told me I
was just as safe as anyone in head on and side impacts but it was the
flipping and leaving the ground that could bring me problems so he
"highly recommended" not getting back into a sprint car. To move up on
dirt, being in a sprint car gives the best chance and since that was
taken away, the move to asphalt had to happen.
What divisions have you
raced and at what tracks?
We've run big block modifieds and dirt sprint cars across North
Eastern Ohio and Western PA. In the modifieds we ran the BRP Modified
Tour and a couple Super Dirt series events and with the sprint cars we
traveled to Florida for Speedweeks, the Ohio All Star Speedweek, The
Dirt Track at Lowes for the USAC event and to Lincoln Speedway and
Williams Grove Speedway in Central PA for numerous races as well. On
the asphalt, we competed at the local tracks of Lake Erie Speedway,
Lancaster Raceway Park, Motordrome Speedway, Holland International
Speedway. as well as New Smyrna Beach Speedway for Speedweeks and 2
years of the ASA Challenge Series.
If you could win any race
in the world which one would you want to win?
If I could win any race in the world, it would have to be the
Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, IA. Winning that race was my main
goal growing up.
Is there any race that
sticks in your mind from 2010, and why?
The race that stands out the most in 2010 would have to be our
first PASS South victory at South Boston Speedway in the fall. Every
race we kept getting closer and after a tight battle with our teammate
Ryan Blaney, we finally got out first one.
Do you have any favorite
My favorite track has to be Eldora Speedway. We ran a big
block modified there a few years ago and as hard as you have to run the
place with the speed thats carried, I imagine its everyone's favorite
place who runs it..
Who is your favorite
My favorite professional driver is Dave Blaney.
Growing up I always wanted to follow in his footsteps and getting to
work with him every day is a cool deal.
When you are not racing
what do you do for fun?
I have a hard time sitting still so I like anything that keeps me
outside and active. Everything from cutting grass in the summer to
skiing in the winter
Is there anybody you
would like to thank?
First, I have to thank God for bringing me through everything
I've been through and letting me get back to the life I love. The
amount of support I receive from my family is awesome. I have to thank
Jack Dudkiewicz, Chris Chaky, Ricky Knapp, Rich Klimarchuk and Eric
Nash. Also, I have to give a special thanks to Dave Blaney for
everything he has done throughout the years for my racing career.
